Break it Down Now!

Well, they heard our cries of protest and listened! No more of the lame "You're off the show, but please, still dance for us" eliminations!! It's back the way it should be with the kick-offs being done at the end.

Hallelujah.

Onward and upward! Cat looked fan-flipping-tastic with her dress and make-up. And those shoes! Oh, momma! I want them!

Guest Judges: We got two of them last night! Erin Andrews and Paula Abdul

That sucks moments: One of my favorites, Detroit aka Jude is out of the competition because of an injury. Sad day. But, that means only one girl will get kicked off.

(Videos courtesy of IdolX3)

Opening Routine: This was fantastic. I'm usually always a fan of the group numbers, but this was a collaboration between Sony and Christopher. Ummm, who's the genius between that pairing??

Girl Bottom 3: Alexis the tapper, Jasmine M the contemporary dancer, and Jenna the ballroom dancer. The solos were good (I'm not going to post them here, though), and you could tell that Alexis and Jasmine especially were dancing for their lives. But who will the judges send home? Good thing they're waiting for all the routines and another talk with the choreographers before making a decision.

Amy and Fik-shun (Paso Doble): I love Jean Marc as a choreographer, so I'm excited to see his routine. This is one of my favorite Latin dances, so I'm excited to see how they do. MAN! This was such a strong and ROCKIN' routine! Jean Marc did not disappoint. And Fik-shun did really well. One of my favorites of the night for sure. Favorite.

Jasmine H and Aaron (Broadway): I have to say, that Aaron just keeps impressing me each week. I'll admit, he wasn't one of my favorites in Vegas. Actually, I didn't really like him at all. But, he keeps proving himself with each dance, and he is showing that he is so much more than a tapper. And Jasmine, well, she's just an amazing dancer, period.

Makkenzie and Paul (Contemporary): A new choreographer. Hmmm....lets see how she does. (I'd like to point out here that the judges will probably give a standing O and cry. Along with my co-worker, Tracy). Okay, Paul really captured this character and the emotion. So did Makenzie, but Paul really stood out for me. Although it was a beautiful routine, I can't call it a favorite.

Jasmine M and Alan (Jazz): I'm quickly growing to like Jazz. I think the routines so far this season have really brought out a different side of Jazz than I thought I knew. Honestly, I don't understand how Jasmine could have been in the bottom 3 this week. She's a fabulous dancer. And it showed through in this number, as well. I'm kind of surprised that the judges didn't like it more than they did. Favorite

Jenna and Tucker (Hip Hop): They aren't holding back on the new choreographers, are they? These two are definitely different than anyone they have currently on the show or have had. Which is nice and fresh. It reminded me A LOT of Michael Jackson, and not just because there were clips of his voice in the song. The moves were good, but I would have liked to see more interaction between them as dancers than just them doing the same moves. It was more like them mirroring each other. And I didn't believe that it was 100% hip hop, it felt like there was some jazz in there, too, which I think is what added to the freshness of this number. Favorite

Malece and AS Marco (Contemporary): First of all, WOW, look at that stage set up! Malece was one of my favorites going into the Top 20, but I don't think she's as strong as some of the other dancers on the show. I don't know what it is about her, but I just feel like she holds herself back a bit but at the same time tries a little too hard. If that even makes sense. But, it shows how much I show. Sonya was dancing in the aisle and the judges gave a standing O.

Hayley and Curtis (Samba): Hold on there! Two Jean Marc routines in one night?! We are being spoiled. And let me tell you, Hayley did an amazing job. I never should have thought she wasn't a ballroom dancer. Curtis did pretty good for the most part. There were a few times that I saw him stumble, but he did a pretty good job with his hips and his frame. The lifts and tricks weren't his things, we could all see that. The set up was obvious and the strength that was needed wasn't there.

Alexis and Nico (Jazz): This was okay. I like Nico, but I'm not a big fan of Alexis. So I think that prevented me from liking it as much as I could have.

Mariah and BluPrint (Hip Hop): I love seeing dancers when they get a routine in their element. And this did not disappoint. From the very beginning I was just captivated. And Mariah has such showmanship! She out performs BluePrint in that way. And actually, as a hip hopper, I think she out-shown him the entire time. I really like her. Great routine. Favorite

Who went home: Jasmine went home :( Which is sad, because I really thought she was fantastic.

Well, that's all for this week! Until next Wednesday!

Break it down now!

Okay, I get that SYTYCD likes to change things up every now and then, and for the most part, I enjoy it. But last night? With the bottom 3 couples?

Really?

HORRIBLE set up. Just plain awful. And I hope they change it for next week and not continue to do this format for the entire season.

Who wants to be told at the beginning of the night that they're going home, but oh, wait, you still have to dance with your partner and make it good.

NOT a good format. I miss the two day structure and the announcement of the bottom 3 couples at the end of the show with guest performances and solos before. But, alas, it is not I who produce the show (cough, cough Nigel cough)

Thoughts on Cat's dress? Personally, I don't think it was classy enough for her. Did anyone catch a glimpse of that diamond ring she's been sporting of late?

Okay, down to the show! (Routines are not in order of show appearance, I pulled all videos from IdolXFactor3)

Guest Judge: Christina Applegate

Opening Routine: A great number by Tyce. A little creepy but very entertaining.

Who went home: Brittany and Carlos

Hayley & Curtis, Jazz: This was a very sexy jazz routine that made Dirty Old Man Nigel very happy. You wouldn't have thought that Curtis was strictly a tapper.

Jasmine H & Aaron, Lyrical Hip Hop: I'm not a fan of this genre and this routine didn't particularly grab my attention, so (confession time), I skipped it. But, the judges seemed to like it. :)

Jade & Malece, Bollywood: I was deeply saddened by this routine. I love bollywood. But Malece and Jade really didn't do this number justice. You could tell that Jade was given parts that required minimal skill in that genre. And Malece didn't do too bright, either. The thing with bollywood is that it's hard. I like it better when the program introduces that genre later in the season when the dancers have had the chance to improve in their dancing and are better equip to dance it right.

Alexis & Nico, Contemporary: This was a good routine. But nothing special, for me.

Brittany & BluPrint, Broadsay: THROWING BOOKS?! The atrocity!! Other than that, this was a fun routine. :) And BluPrint did surprisingly well.

Jasmine M & Alan, Argentine Tango (Favorite): I. Loved. This. Routine. That is all.

Mackenzie & Paul, Jazz (Favorite): Another fun, great jazz number. Loved this.

Mariah & Carlos, Contemporary: This was okay. I was impressed with how well Mariah so far out of her style.

Amy & Fik-Shun, Hip Hop (Favorite): This was such a FUN routine. Loved it.

Jenna & Tucker, Cha Cha: I thought Tucker did okay and Jenna did great. But the judges slightly disagreed with me.

Who do you think will be in the bottom 3 couples next week? My opinion? Jude, Malece, BluPrint, Alan, Jasmine M., Jenna.

Break it down now!

So You Think You Can Dance SEASON 10, EVERYBODY!!!

Be honest, did you think it would last this long? I did. I decided not to blog during the auditions, because, let's face it, there's not much to talk about. I did like, however, that they didn't focus very much on the crazy, horrible dancers.

But a question has been plaguing me and mine, WHERE IS TYCE??? If you know the answer, please tell me in the comments. I miss him and we all hope he choreographs some routines this season.

So, last week we had our Top 20 announced. And I love the way they shuffled between the Green Mile and the live show with the dances. They were all wonderful and unique, and the Top 10 Boys with the sand was pretty dang awesome. In case you missed it, our T20 are:

So, how did last night's episode go with partners? Let's find out.

Judges: Nigel, Mary, Wayne Brady

First off.... Did anyone else notice that honkin' diamond on Cat's left ring finger? Hmmmm??? That's the second week in a row it's been on there. I'm just sayin'.

I want to come out and say this, which will make this a short post. I LOVED all the routines. I thought everyone did fantastic. Even the routine that the judges weren't too impressed about. So there. And that opening number? Favorite so far. :)

So, without further time-wasting, here are the routines from last night!

Break it down now!

I love summer because.....MY FAVORITE SHOW IS ON!!

That's right, So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) is on its 10th season, and it just keeps getting better and better. I haven't been recapping the past 4 weeks because its just been the tryouts, and then the next 2 or so weeks will be Vegas, where they cut 200 dancers down to 20.

Then I'll start talking about it.

But, I can't help but share some amazing auditions that were on the show last night. I've really gotten into Animation dance (Cyrus from Season 9 made me aware of it). To me, that style of dance takes as much skill--if not more--than any classically trained ballet dancer or contemporary dancer. The talent and skill it takes to move the way they do is just jaw-dropping. I could watch it all day.Turns out Wayne Brady agrees with me. :)

So, here are four five of my favorites from last night. I hope they make it into the Top 20.

BluPrint from Dragon House

Jasmine Harper

Caleb Brauner (don't underestimate the nerd)

Jenna Johnson

Nicco Greetham (Nigel is such a dirty old man)

Blogger couldn't find the video to embed, so there's a link.

Break it down now!

Opening routine: Was very good, loved how it came across on the TV as black and white and all the dancing was pretty good, but for some reason, I didn't really connect with it.

Guest judge: Christina Applegate (Glad she's back)  Tiffany & George: NappyTabs – Adventures in babysitting. Tiffany hits it and brings it in this routine. George is dang impressive, too, but Tiffany stole the show for me. Is it just me, or are the routines this season longer? (What is with all of Mary's sparkles? The butterfly rings, dangling earrings, bracelet and shoulders? A little too much).
Amber & Brandon with a jazz routine by Ray Leeper: Amber did good and was hot, and I was a little disappointed with Brandon's part. I didn't feel that they really gave him much dancing to do, just running around and lifts. I wanted to see him really break out into a different dance style and shine since he's a stepper.
Janelle & Dareian and the cha-cha by Pasha: They are perfect for each other in this dance. I couldn't even tell that this wasn't their normal routine. I noticed her legs could be together a little more, but they were there for each other on all the connections. A little rough, but they were entertaining. Even he was interesting. Wow, my opinion was the exact opposite of Mary's. Well anyway, I thought it looked great.
Lindsay & Cole dancing contemporary with Mandy Moore: Relationship between love and hate. How can you be a dancer nad hate feet? And have a foot phobia? Wow, there was a sequence in there that was so powerful. I thought they did good together, and It was a nice routine, but again, I just didn't connect with them. I don't know if it's just me tonight, or what. And it seemed like there were too many times where she was just holding her legs out for him to grab.
Amelia & Will with a jazz number by Mandy Moore: Opposites attract. I'm not a fan of jazz routines very much, but Amelia was so cute. I just love her so much. In the end though, The routine was pretty good, but I think it was the dancers that I liked more than the routine. They just have such chemistry and they school every single routine they dance.
Audrey & Matthew dancing salsa by Liz Lira: Not liking the red costumes this season. Lets see how they do on the tricks since that's what they had problems on. Well, they pulled them off, but it was more of a set up, execute move, finish. Too staged, set up very structured and no flow. When they were dancing, though, they did well. Matthew forgot to smile most of the time. It was okay.
Witney & Chehon in a Stacey Tookey contemporary routine: The impossible circumstances. The power in Chehon's opening move was just amazing and Whitney was so beautiful in this number. I didn't think she could, because I always just thought of her as cheap, something about her...but this dance just changed that impression of her in my mind. Great sequence there. Standing O. I've noticed when it has to do with love, or having something you can't, the judges cry and a Standing O happens. Favorite
Eliana & Cyrus in a NapyTabs hip hop routine: Music box ballerina. I thought Cyrus was brilliant per usual. Bt Eliana did a pretty good job with the hip hop, Nigel wanted grungier, here he goes. Dub steps in everything. I really did love this routine.
Solos: Amber, Lindsay, Eliana, George, Brandon, Dareian are in the bottom. Amber, Eliana, Brandon and Dareian were all asked to dance solos. I didn't enjoy Amber's solo. I kind of felt it was all over the place. Brandon's was good, a little bit like an exercise routine in the beginning and not a lot of stepping and I think that was because of the song. Eliana's routine was so breathtaking, even without the pointe shoes. Between she and Amber, Amber's got to go. There are so many contemporary dancers on the show already, that I think they should save Brandon if it comes down to him and Dareian. I mean, Dareian's solo was good. He's a talented dancer for sure.
Guest performance: The Hunt. Very powerful and awesome. Some of the partnering was a little awkward, it seemed like it was supposed to be danced by a male and female paring, but with it being done by two males, it was a little off looking. These guys, though, were so powerful. The stamina and energy and power this routine took was epic, and they kept it all up with such intensity through the entire thing. I was so impressed.
So, who's going home? Hubby says it should be Lindsey and George. I say Amber and Dareian. The judges picked Amber & Brandon. NO! Oh, a sad, sad day.
Routines tonight weren't that great. Actually, so far this season, there weren't too many fabulous partner routines. Good group numbers but not enough good partner ones. Who's going home in three weeks? I think the bottom 3 guys and girls will be: Janelle, Audrey, & Tiffany, and Dareian, George, & Matthew.

Break it Down Now!

Judges: Mary, Nigel and Kenny
  1. The opening routine knocked my socks off
  2. Huge fan of Kerry Muzzey over here
  3. Love me some Christopher Scott choreography!
  4. I do miss hearing about the inspiration for the dance and the story behind it. It lets me connect better to the number
  5. Favorite

Whitney & Chehon with an Ansel Cha-Cha Routine: I liked it. Chehon did pretty okay with his ballet background, and of course Whitney rocked it. She was in her element so how could she go wrong? But then again, I have seen superbly better Latin dancers as well. These first rounds of dancing are pretty much confidence builders for the dancers themselves. The judges never really have anything super critical to say. They gave some pointers to Chehon about his feet and advised Whitney to pick up her first class ticket.
George & Tiffany with a Sonya Contemporary Routine: Truly seeing each other for the first time. Loved that jump move into George's arms. They partner really well together, anticipating where the other will be and completely trusting. I really enjoyed the dance and their execution of it. It was so well done. Great dance. Okay, judges, too much talking, not enough dancing.
Janaya & Brandon with a NappyTabs Hip-Hop Routine: Janaya, Alchoholic and choosing between the drink and her. Wow, she's pretty good out the gate with the hip hop and of course Brandon is rockin' it, but overall I was pretty impressed with Janaya. A little off at parts from each other but for themost part they're hitting it pretty good. I'm thinking that Nigel has a crush on Mary.
Alexa & Daniel with a Sean Cheesman Jazz Routine: There's a lot of lifts, and she's not a small girl and he's not a big guy. It seems like the routine had more tricks than real dancing. Those red suits are so awful it's not even funny. For all the red, her not having red lipstick was a bit out of place.
Amber & Nick with a Jason Gilkison Waltz Routine: I didn't realize Jason was that tough. That's awesome. I thought Amber did pretty dang good in the waltz and I think Nick got all his connections on time. Wow, there were so many phenomenal lifts and twirls. Jason looked completely surprised and amazed. Nick kind of came across as a goofy arrogant guy. Hubby and I feel weird about him.
Amelia & Will with a NappyTabs Character Pop Hip-Hop Routine: (The leopard unitard crept Hubby out, so he is not present for this number). Cute number I actually really liked it, but it seems more Jazzy than hiphop. Amelia did a REALLY good job, I 'll be honest, I was worried most about her, but Will is the one I felt could've brought a lot more to the table in this number. I really liked Amesila in this. Wow! That lift up to his shoulders was great. And cue the lame cat/purr jokes. Probably my favorite routine of the night. Favorite
Dareian and Janelle with a Sean Cheesman African Jazz Routine: Janelle's one of my favorites She's a crazy good dancer for only dancy belly dancing. And Dareian was pretty good in this number, I was impressed by both. Interesting they took out the trick where she broke herself. One thing I noticed at the end of the routine: Look how little they are!
Eliana & Cyrus with a Tyce Diorio Broadway Routine: Can I just say that I adid not recognize her at all with that wig. Hairspray! Tyce looked scared. Cyrus is just the perfect addition to to this show. His personality. I love how Tyce brought in some of Cyrus' moves to the routine. I was impressed with them. A good number. Annnnnd Tyce was happy with it. I thought that they were another great couple. Good pairing and chemistry between the two. Side note: Eliana has a really big mouth. While this wasn't one of my favorite routines, I was so very happy with Cyrus' performance!
Audrey & Matthew with a Travis Wall Routine: Titanic. I Think that there's some actual chemistry going on between the two of them. Good trust and lifts. The audience loved the routine. And I agree, it was pretty good. Standing house. Favorite
Lindsay & Cole with a Jason Gilkison Passodoble: This is my favorite Latin dance EVER! It's about Lindsay poisoning him. An interesting opening. (Me: Where's his cape? Hubby: He doesn't need one, he's a half naked samuri descended from the 47 ronin samurai.) I thought this was very well done. They both danced it so well, very powerfcul. Loved this dance. This was my other other favorite routine of the night. GREAT! And another great partnering. Wow, Mary is invested in her comments. Such compliments from the judges. Burn the Floor? A show choreographed by Jason. I must check this out. Nigel mentioned it showing Thursday night. Favorite
Two boys and two girls. I wouldn't mind seeing Nick and Daniel going home and Whitney and Janaya. I haven't connected with any of them. So, who are your favorite dancers? What routines did you like best?

Break it Down Now!

Due to the holiday and movie rentals done by Hubby and I, the recap for SYTYCD will be posted Friday morning. I know, my heart is broken, too. :(

But the movies were good :)

UPDATE: I completely forgot that there was no SYTYCD last night, so I'm in the clear! Until next week :)

Break it Down Now!

(Disclaimer: Sometimes I really HATE Blogger and SERIOUSLY think about moving to Wordpress. I don't understand why the movie option here can't find the video clips on YouTube that I KNOW are there! As a result, some videos will be a link instead of embedded.)

It's time to reveal our T20! Are you just so excvited? (Cat's dress was horrible, btw). Zoe Deschanel! I LOVE her, and Coworker Jusin has a secret crush (don't tell him I told you that, though, Anna Paquin might get jealous). Two winners this season! Top girl AND top guy! I think I like this spin. Okay, time for the results!

Alexa Anderson (not a big fan)
George Lawrence II

Will Thomas

Amber Jackson

Contemporary routine by Tyce Diorio. Good movement and staying in sync, still need to work on tweaking things. It was an okay dance—I like getting the story behind it so I can connect more. I think George will go far and Amber Jackson stood out to me the best. But Alexa held her own for me in this one. Finally someone taller than Cat, in Will!

Nick Bloxsom-Carter

Lindsay Arnold & Whitney Carson Who will win? Whitney made it. Poor Lindsey. :( I hate it when they do this!
Lindsey made it, too!

Jason Gilgasun ballroomI knew they were going to do this for ballroom. My coworkers and I called it. It's so mean. But brings good ratings. Who's Nick? I don't remember him. Ugh, the tears. Now I remember him. Ugh. I'm cringing and closing my eyes at his theatrics.I love watching the ballroom routines, there's so much sass and personality. And Nick@@ Holy cow is he an eye catching male ballroom dancer@ Most of the time I never watch the guy, but I found myself equally watching both the birls and him. I think he could have added a little more snap but, this was a REALLY entertaining and good routine. Effotrtless. I agree with Mary about Nick, needing a little more from him.

Australian ballerina Daniel Baker

Pole Dancer Ballerina Eliana Girard – She looks pained. YES! She made it!!

Swiss Ballerina Chehon Wespi-Tschopp

Seriously? The tension here is KILLING me! Good decision! Daniel made it! Good choice judges. Oh, Chehon's crying. Wait, what?!?! Chehon made it, too! I HATE THE JUDGES! When they do this, it's horrible! I'm on an emotional roller coaster here!

Desmond Richardson and Dwight Wodin routine. Oh, it's like our own personal ballet show. How beautiful, but I didn't like the harshness and utiliartarianism of the costumes (and yes, I did just make that word up). But the last half of the music fits. Very creative. Eliana's legs are just amazing. I would have liked to see more from the guys, more of Chehon's leaps and Daneel's acrobatics. I wasn't as impressed with this routine as I hoped I would be. May I point out that those are not flattering costumes, boys? I agree with Mary, so excited that Ballet is going to have a huge voice this season.

Tiffany Maher (don't remember her)

Audrey Case the neck farter

Janelle Issis (I see her going all the way to the end) Bahaha! That entrance was classic!

Sonya teya Jazz Routine. What! Janelle isn't dancing tonight? LAME. I LOVE this song. But those outfits? A little boyish on the bottoms. Mistakes can be forgiven this first time around, which is good, because these two girls needed a lot of work together, they weren't in sync for a lot of the time, and there were stumbling. But I liked the routine.

Joshua Alexander Why is he crying in the waiting room? He doesn't' even know what's going on! Wow, Adam, don't waste any time telling him he didn't make it!
Matthew Kazmierczak aka Ryan Gosling Jr. - haha. That whole thing Mary made him do was funny.

Dareian Kajawa (lousy feet)

Janaya French – who is she?

Amelia Lowe 1920's star. They didn't play around with that decision.

Contemporary Stacey Tookey. Stacey's just an amazing chotrographer. I thought Amelia did pretty well, and Darian's fee were better. But They need to…haha! Did you all see his feet? They were flexed and then he pointed them when he thought about them! C'mon, buddy, they're an extention of your legs, point them at least a little. Beautiful routine.

Cole Horibe

Brandon Mitchell

Cyrus Spencer and the 50 Cent lookalike, Feliciano Turk. Cyrus just seems like an incredible human being. This is the most agonizing decision I think tonight. I actually threw my hands in the air and screamed when they chose Cyrus! Feleciano looked shocked.

Christopher Scott hip hop. I loved how they just put all their styles into the dance. Oh, wow, this is a great routine from the very beginning. The music selection and the choreography. These boys rocked it! So. Much. I could watch this over and over again. In fact, I think I'm going to. Smiling so big right now. Great choice in picking Cyrus!

T10 Girls dancing Travis Wall – Gateway to the afterlife. The counts are challenging in this routine. The poses look like greek statues. Very artistic and beautiful, especially with the dresses. Amelia does stand out the most with all those girls, so she really needs to work on being perfect. They all did so brilliantly they danced so brilliantly. Really did. And their syncopation was spot on. Beautiful routine. Oh! That last shot there with Aleza in the doorway, I think I she just found her way into my heart.

T10 boys dancing Sonya Taye. Fight to maintain. I love how demanding she is. It's perfect for the boys. Tis is going to be fierce. Did you see how strong that little asian boy is?!?! Holy crap. Interesting costumes, Japanese theme. I love her movements so much. I would have liked some louder more hitting music, though. It was too quiet. But, it worked. The girl routine was better, but it was such a different beast than this number.

T20 dancing Mia Michaels. Finally! Reminds me a bit of Kpax. Pretty good timing for 20 people. Loved how they all started dancing together started dancing together one by one. Wow, so glad Mia is back, but is that a wig? I wonder if she had a bout with cancer (I only guess that because of her passion towards breast cancer survivors, her mom died of cancer—I think—and she was out for a season or two.

I'm pretty happy with the selection of Season 9's T20, are you?

Break it Down Now!

Vegas, baby!!
(I couldn't find clips for everything, sorry)

Solos, Hip hop, Broadway, Jazz, Groups, Ballroom, Contemproary, Final solos. That’s what in store for us before we find our T20. I don’tknow If Ican survive all that; I don't know how the dancers can.
Judges: Lil C, Debbie Allen, Adam Shankman, Tyce Diorio, Mary Murphy, Nigel Lythgo.

ROUND 1 - SOLOS AND CUTS: Holy. Cow. That's intense. The Exorcist did his solo and Adam (he's such a cryer) and Tyce shed some tears. I hope The Exorcist does well in everything else.  That’s the same song as his original audition. I was hoping for something new. But man, does he have talent. All the judges who didn’t see him the first time are just wow’d. Yeah! Go Excorcist. Love the glitter shoes, remind me of Dorothy. I like how they let everyone do their solos and then they make decisions. Belly dancer I love watching her dance. She owns that stage when ever she’s on it. I hope he can do so other styles, too. I think she can. Hey! That ballroom girl's braces are off. 51 dancers gone! I can’t believe that! And the guy with the Selena Gomez back pack was sent home.

ROUND 2 - HIP HOP WITH TWITCH & COMFORT: I like Twitch, but have never been too impressed  Comfort. "If you’re not sweating doing this routine, you’re not doing it right."  The Dragon House Crew! I have such high hopes for them! Hampton!! What are you doing?!?! Don’t give up!! Please!!!  He’s giving up! I really wanted to see him give it a shot. Andre from Dragon House looks like he’s going to give up. I hope not. He’s just going to leave. Gone. I understand where he’s coing from, but I’m so sad he quit. The dragon guy’s doing pretty good. I’d like to see better, so I think send on to (Borus) another style. Sent home. Only Cyrus remains. Praying mantis is gone! And mother of two! So sad. Lets see how Cyrus does, too bad they’re in front. He seems to be holding his own, seeing his little popping coming through. He’s doing pretty dang good.

ROUND 3 - BROADWAY WITH TYCE: This style really makes or breaks people, I think. There’s so much more than dancing to Broadway. Whitney and Lindsey, the ballroom girls. Whitney for sure has the sexy thing going, wow, she commands the spunk and sass that’s needed! I didn’t think we’d get that from her.  But needs to find other shorts, her bums hanging out. They all made it. The judges are going to have to start cutting people sometime. Alexa, oh, Alexa. I never really did care for you. She’s dancing it, but she’s not feeling it. Not when you compare her to Whitney. NOW the judges are cutting people. Wow, harsh and severe.

ROUND 4 - JAZZ WITH SONYA: I heart Sonya. For realz. Only 82 dancers left. Okay, hiphopper, you’re just looking for excuses as to why you're struggling. Own your junk, Shafeek.  His partner, Bacon Girl looks like she’s going to kill him.  Rachel, burlesque dancer needs to go, she just sucks. Bacon Girl is good, but I think she really being held back by her partner. What is this? Is Rachel trying to fight to stay? I didn’t know they could do that. Please shut her down. Say no Adam. Good boy. Tyce, that yes sounded lame. Argh! I don’t want to see her strip for her life. Oh well. Lots of dancers getting cut from Sonya’s routine. Doesn’t pay to be nice, Bacon Girl! I've seen the previews about what happens to you! She was kicked in the head and she got up to keep dancing. Wow, that’s insanity and dedication all rolled into one. The judges let her partner go because he kicked her in the face? I didn’t think he was that bad. Oh! Amelia, I love her. Dragon House guy, good for you for sticking with it. That’s what I like to see. Amelia is killing it. Lindsey needs to get a better top because her straps keep falling down. Pleas keep Amelia!! Cyrus, I really hope he makes it to the T20, I really think he’ll make it. What’s up with Danielle? I thought she was okay?

DANCING FOR THEIR LIVES: What’s with all this jerking of your neck with the tie, Rachel? Lil C looks pained (as my mom just said) and I agree. How is this true to burlesque? I thought it was horrible. Debbie Allen is spot on. I hope Rachel comes back next season but better and with different dance styles under her belt. What about Amelia? I think she’ll do great. Look at those feet! Her legs are great, and her flow and extention and the way she uses her arms is just beautiful. That solo was exquisite! Nigel says smart things, and I love Tyces happy yes face. Adam’s a cry baby.
ROUND 5 - GROUP ROUTINES: What! Picking they’re own group? This will be good. "I’m done! D-O-N Done!" Bahahahaha! What’s with all these tears? And where’s bacon girl? Still in the hospital? The Australian ballerina is back and here’s the Bacon Girl. This will be interesting to see how their group routine turns out since she came in two hours late.  There’s no cohesiveness in their group, just dancing around. Argh. Don’t send them home! Dang! Bacon Girl gets the boot. Give her another chance. She had a head injury for goodness sake. Borus stayed! That’s good.

The Highschoolers. Huh. Let’s see. It’s a cute idea. I’m cringing,  Like bigtime. But not so sure. Ah, now it's getting better. I thought it was good, in the end. They were pretty together. Okay, not cringing as much anymore.  I was thinking exactly what Nigel said. Lots of good people I’m seeing go through.

I really don’t want to say Alexa go forward and I can’t put my finger on exactly why. They all look exhausted. She’s showing a little more emotion in this number. I’m proud of her. Man! Tyce is just zeroing in on Alexa and taking her by the throat and shaking her ruthlessly. I think Tyce is being a tad bit harsh in his words. I thought she did a lot better. She’s just very reserved, but I guess she’s going to have to break out of this box.

ROUND 6 - BALLROOM WITH JASON: It's the test of the cha-cha and chemistry.  It’s so crazy that these girls have muscles on their ribs. I love how persistent Cyrus is and how he’s giving it his all and really pouring himself into the routine. And I also like how he puts some of his hip hop to the moves. That foot drag was so funny! So stiff and painful. But he made me smile so much. I have a soft spot in my heart for this boy. I really do. I’m glad they’re letting him dance for his life, because there’s no way they’ll tell him no after his solo.

I’m kinda really liking the pink haired girl, but I think she’s lost her shirt cuz all she’s wearing is her bra. Aw, she’s going home.  Wow. Those are big tears. And shaking hands. Wow. I feel like I’ve just stepped in on a very akward moment and am backing away slowly. My pole dancing ballerina made it through.  So, It’s up to Alexa. Bring it, girl. She’s concentrating so much on her face and showing the emotion – there it is!!!!! Now she’s in the groove!

Cyrus’ solo! I can’t wait to see it again! I think he’s really proven himself in other genres to earn a spot in Vegas still. I want to see him do more. I think they’re really--Look. At. That. This is pure talent. He’s such a special dancer. I hope they just keep letting him dance. He looks like he’s battery operated my mom says. I love the look on Nigel’s face after he dances, he’s always moved. YAY! He’s staying! I LOVE his devotion and determination to winning. 52 people left.

ROUND 7 - CONTEMPORARY WITH TRAVIS: "Technically I’m looking for perfection." I love Travis’ routines because he really brings the emotions out in each dancer and really lets the them connect with their partner as a result. I’ve only seen a couple other choreographers do that. Wait! What are all these dancers doing on stage? 18 dancers asked to do the choreography again. Lots of tears. Krumper!!!! I think she’s doing so well! Who knew! It was sad to see her go.

ROUND 8 - FINAL SOLOS: Now it’s the final solos and finding out who the…..what the heck!!!!  I like that the camera man called for a medic then whent back to filming. (I don’t think I like that Cat as the host for that cheap dating show, by the way. Just saw a commercial for it.) I like how thyey’re doing the solos and interviews. Maybe we’ll find the T20 in this episode. Wow! That last solo was awesome! People who think boy ballerinas are lame are uneducated. LOL.

Trey, Dres, Adrian, & Brandon cut!!! Wow! It’s like a slap in the face for Adrain. So sad. 35 dancers at the end.

Next week, we find out who our T20 are!!!

Break it down now!

We're in Salt Lake City for the last location for auditions!

SLC really is a beautiful place. Minus the snow, of course. :) Nigel, Mary & Adam Shankman (finally!! Where were you all last season?)

Whitney Looks familiar. The cha cha tango. She looks really young and bubbly. Wow! She's sharp. Missed the hand grab but I think it was okay. They guy? He looks like a fish trying to breathe out of water with all the mouth opening and closing. I don't like all the mouth moving they're both doing. But she's really getting into it. She' good but there were a couple places I noticed she could've been sharper, but that might've been her partner. Oh no, I'm really hoping the (whoa! Show was that creeper in the crowd?!?!). Straight to Vegas. Hubby called it.

Alien space dance? Lynn….wow. I don't even know what to say. I just….wow….wow. Davine da Flame & Rainbow Light Bright. She's freaking crazy. Oh wow. Now we have tears. Notice how she didn't answer Cat's question about hallucinogenic drugs? And she left that to dance for the spirits? Okay. She's not.…that…bad....At least not as bad as I thought she'd be. Very entertaining. Hubby: "Seriously? WTF? I have resentment."

Deanna the Italian is an only girl! That's horrible. If I were a guy, I wouldn't want to be her boyfriend. My body would disappear. Nigl needs a girlfriend. Dirty old man. I want to be in an Italian family. Maybe Hubby and I will calim be Italian from now on. Look at her quads! Did you see them? They're huge!! So far, I'm not seeing much dancing. Good backbends, but I want more. Here we go. Very flowy. Knows how to use her arms and legs. Very sweet personality and pretty. Good combo there. Powerful and expressive. Good Dancer, I really like her. Nigel looks happy. I think she's going to make it to the T20.

There's someone out there weirder than the Alien Space Dance?? Holy crap. I think he's crazier than Lynn. The life cycle of the praying mantis? For realz? Very entertaining. Wouldn't that be funny if he was really good. Okay. Yeah, That's not funny. He actually is an amazing dancer with good technique. Usually people like this bomb. My apologies for stereotyping him. Sonia would LOVE him. I would love to see what else he could do. If he even could do anything else. Choreography? I'm really surprised with how good he was. "You're really sort of brilliant!" I agree with Adam 100% (There's that creepy kid in the audience again). VEGAS!!! Wow.

Lindsey Arnold. Parading on stage like a parade pony. So sassy. I like her take on ballroom, she does bring a little something different to it. Her legs are nice and long and strong. But when I think about her and compare her to the first girl. She just has so much more to do to compete. But she can still hold her own. Jullian Huff. Wow, strong compliments from Mary.

Ballroom. Ballroom. Ballroom. Ballroo--Krump?. Queue Adam Shankman choking on his water.

I hope this is good. Lets see some Krumping. Wow. "Holy, beep! She's krumping. She's really good!" Adam loves this. I think I'd be scared of her if I was a boy. I want oto see if she can do a waltz. Haha. Seriously though, I want to see her in choreography. Why didn't the audience clap? I didn't even hear one clap or cheer. I think she deserves it. Hubby commented on the same thing as Mary, there needs ot be more vocabulary in her moves.

Murphy Yang. Family moved to California without them?!?! What the crap? Hey! Blue streak just like mine! I hope he goes far. Let's see. Strong setup. He's good. I want to see other types from him. Very entertaining. I agree with Nigel that there wasn't enough dancing for me either. I also agree with Adam, lots there's a lot of untapped dancer potential in in him. I hope he does well. Oh, dang, not strong enough. So sad. But the Krumper made it!!

Dareian. Nigel is getting so bad. Each season he's more and more liberal and racy with his comments! Get off the floor buddy. Wow. He really is a very powerful dancer and there is so much skill and technique. I think he has what it takes to be in the T20. Adam looks proud. So very proud. He had such good sequences, but I agree with Nigel, LOUSY feet. Hubby says this phrase is losing it's power, "You are what this show is all about".

Johnny. Oh, wow. He's crazy. I like how he's trying all his moves on Cat. Not working. Poor dance partner Whitney. Double Your Dating. Boys, don't buy into this. I don't care about the dating. Let's see the dancing and hope that little conversation doesn't ruin their audition. They're actually pretty good. I don't like his faces all over the place, the judges don't look impressed. And after Mary's comment, I notice only that. They're never looking at each other, just the audience. Especially him. I thought the couple got really good critiques. I bet they go through to choreography.

Familiar faces. I'm so glad about the little blond. I really liked her!!!!!! And Adrian, poor guy, so nervous can't even get his rods out. Good dancer just like he was two seasons ago. I think he's going to make it to Vegas, hands down, and he'll have good news to tell them. I remember I really liked him back in Season 7.

Leroy. He seems very unassuming. Good cause. Mary's already crying. Is he good> Yes. He is. I never would have thought that was from him. LOL!!! Oh, his personality! He's great. And a good dancer, did I say that already> What about other choreography. Wow! He can do tricks! Adam's in love. I can tell. Standing O from the audience. Can he do anything else, though? I have faith that he can. Why are you drawing this out, judges! Give your decision already! You can go, but I don't think you can do it. Rude! I hope he proves them wrong. So sad, he didn't. I'd love to see him come back next year and really blos them out of the water.

Next week looks INSANE. Can't wait.

Predictions: Deanna the Italian will get to the T20. I really feel strongly about the Mantis boy, and I think that the krumper will go far but not quite make it. What about you al?
Happy Thrusday, my friends!
